It’s a new batch of LEGO sets and that means more Wizarding World fun. It’s time to rank the new Harry Potter LEGO sets, so you know which ones to put your money towards first.

As Potterheads, we want our hands on all the gadgets, the games, and the accessories. Harry Potter LEGO sets are some of the greatest inventions, especially if you have young Potterheads around you like me. My kids and I have hours of fun building LEGO sets of various fandoms and now they’re getting into Harry Potter (or Hairy Potter as it often sounds like my six-year-old is saying).

The new Harry Potter LEGO sets sold out quickly when they were unveiled. There are more on backorder, but it’s going to take time. That means there’s time to rank the new sets so you know what to put your money towards first. Let’s take a look.

More from Harry Potter

They’re all great, so saying this ranking is the worst to the best is a little misleading. It’s more like a ranking from lowest on the wishlist to the highest.

The mini-figures from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts

Let’s start ranking the Harry Potter LEGO sets with the mini-figure sets. These are awesome and you’ll need them for some of the sets, but you just can’t build solely with them. However, there are new LEGO mini-figures from both the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises.

There are 22 mini-figures to collect, each coming in a sealed mystery bag.

Aragog’s Lair

If you don’t like spiders, you probably won’t want this set. One of the creatures to build is Aragog! However, it’s fun for the fans of the books and those who adore Hagrid’s affection for the creature. Aragog even has moveable legs and fangs. And it’s a good one to start as there are only 157 pieces.

The BrickHeadz

If I asked my daughter what she wanted, she’d tell you the BrickHeadz. These are the Harry Potter LEGO sets that she does completely on her own and enjoys marveling at her creations. However, when it comes to group builds, they’re not as fun. They are good starter sets though. But that’s why they are at the start of the building set list.

Hogwarts Whomping Willow

We saw this unveiled a while ago but it’s now available to buy. Sure, the set is cool. It even includes the car—and you can’t go wrong with a flying car. Harry and Ron are also included. There’s also a dormitory set that goes with it, so you can pretend you’re racing back to avoid anyone catching you.

Quidditch Match

How about building the four towers with the different house colors? This is available with the Quidditch Match set, which includes the rings, Harry on a broom, and even Snape and Hermione. This will be a fun set if your kids are only just getting into the first novel There are a few small pieces that can easily go missing though, so watch out!

Newt’s Case of Magical Creatures

Harry Potter LEGO sets aren’t the only sets unveiled. You can also get Fantastic Beasts LEGO sets and since it’s the prequels set in the same world, they’re being included in this list. After all, who wouldn’t want to create the creatures from inside Newt’s case?

You’ll get four characters, as well as the chance to build the Thunderbird, Occamy, and Erumpent. Oh, and we can’t forget the Niffler.

Hogwarts Great Hall

We’re closing in on the top of the wishlist. I know many will think the Great Hall would be the top one to save up for, but wait until you see the last. However, there are so many awesome things about the Great Hall—and the first is the amount of pieces. There’s 878 pieces to build the four-level tower. This is more than just the Great Hall, as it includes the Mirror of Erised, a basilisk that you can actually build, and Harry and Draco who can face off against each other.

So, what’s the top one on the wishlist?

The Hogwarts Express

Admit it; you agree now that you’ve seen it. The Hogwarts Express really is an awesome part of the Harry Potter franchise. You don’t just have the train to build, but there’s also Platform 9 ¾ to create. Don’t forget the dementors and Remus Lupin. Finally, there’s the cart with all the delicious goodies to boot.

You’ll have hours of fun with any of the sets.
