Moulin Rouge is going to hit the Great White Way and we can’t wait to be transported back to France. And this first look is only making us more excited!

Moulin Rouge is a fan favorite for a reason. Fans have clung to it for years and now that the musical is coming to Broadway, we get to relive this passionate romance in real life.

With songs from the movie and even more popular music added in, it seems as if this show is catering to fans in a fun way. It reminds us of why we fell in love with the movie but also doesn’t shy away from making changes.

With a cast starring Aaron Tveit as Christian and Karen Olivo as Satine, the musical brings to life the wild world of Montmartre, and more specifically, the life of those who worked at the Moulin Rouge.

The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive first look at product shots of the musical, which will take place at the newly restored Emerson Colonial Theatre. The entire theater has been transformed to include the elephant, the windmill and more. The film, one of Baz Luhrmann’s best works, is so colorful and vibrant and to see that reflected back in the stage design would warm any Moulin Rouge fan’s heart.

Obviously the musical is going to differ from the movie but from what has been released about the production, it is just a more modern retelling of the 2001 classic. As long as this new musical includes the dramatic “Roxanne” and the “Elephant Love Medley”, we’re going to be onboard. Christian and Satine is a love story we’ve followed for quite some time and we can’t wait to see where this new musical takes their story!
