Harry Potter is going to be 38 years old this year

We love Harry Potter and this year, he’s going to be 38 years old! He also still is the messy boy who lived that we love with all our heart!

Harry Potter is going to be 38! If you’re like me, you may remember reading the series and suddenly having it dawn on you that Harry is much older than you originally thought. Math, not always the easiest thing to handle.

So when we realized that we were all about 10 years younger than the boy we grew up with, we began to see his actions differently, especially in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Still, he’s childish and lashes out but that’s what we truly love about Harry.

Is he eloquent? No, not at all. In fact, Harry James Potter says things that he instantly regrets. That’s what is so fascinating about him. He continually digs himself in a hole and has to find a way to get himself back out and a lot of the time, it results in someone else fixing it for him.

But we love Harry and everything he chooses to be. He may not be great with words but he dedicated his life to trying to save the wizarding world and that is a beautiful thing to see in a fictional character, especially one who was only 11 years old when all this started for him.

So as we begin to celebrate Harry Potter, it is important to remember that this flawed boy is our favorite for a reason. He’s the boy who lived and we love every aspect of him.

On July 31, we will wish the boy who lived a happy birthday. He’s our favorite and the one who helped save the wizarding world and we’re grateful to him!
