The Fantastic Beasts Comic-Con trailer is riddled with connections to Harry Potter. Did you spot the Deathly Hallows connection?

Connections between Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter were expected. Teasing us in the run up to the new Comic-Con trailer we knew it was coming, but truth be told, we all knew it was going to happen before they told us.

Throwback connections occurred in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them so naturally, it was going to happen in the sequel. But I don’t think we quite expected so many to appear in the new trailer.

More from Harry Potter

Released during SDCC last weekend, breaking down the trailer bit by bit and looking for clues pretty much happened immediately amongst fans, and it is still ongoing. But did you spot the connection to the Deathly Hallows straight away?

Thank god we have social media. Instead of a group of us gathered round the one screen discussing what we spotted in the new trailer. All you have to do is turn to the Facebook or Twitter and you suddenly have thousands sharing what they spotted.

And this is where the Deathly Hallows connection comes in. I’ll hold my hands up and say I missed it at first; I spotted the Sorcerer’s Stone connections immediately, but I missed the Hallows one at first. But not other Potterheads, they spotted it within seconds.
