It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a dog dressed up as Superman! Dogs came out in full force to show off their fandom at Comic-Con. And it was adorable.
Comic-Con has gone to the dogs! Literally. Walking around SDCC this weekend, you might have wondered if they changed their name to San Diego Canine-Con. There were dogs everywhere!
But these weren’t just any old dogs. These were four-legged super fans. And they were showing their fandom pride in big ways. Fans saw pups cosplaying as their favorite characters from your beloved superheroes to Star Wars characters. Strutting around in their capes, these doggos were ready to save the day.
And some people went all out for their doggie costumes. You had your Spider-Man and Iron Man costumes, and then you saw more extreme, homemade, elaborate, and detailed costumes. One doggo was even riding along in their very one Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters. Now that’s commitment.
It’s not unusual to see people walking around Comic-Con in some pretty intricate costumes. Cosplaying and showing what a big fan you are is part of the whole point of SDCC. But these fans were taking things to the next level getting their pups involved. And it couldn’t be cuter!
Seriously, with all the talks and panels, trailers, and events, we thought Comic-Con was amazing before. But this just proves that anything can be better if you add dogs to the mix. There was even a Pawmicon before Comic-Con started!
Thanks to the San Diego Union-Tribune and others, we get to see the pups in action! Take a look at some of the best-dressed pups at Comic-Con:
