Castle and Beckett – Castle
Their love story: Nathan Fillion could charm the pants off of anybody, but his character Richard Castle had to work so hard to impress Stana Katic’s Kate Beckett. She was a tough, take-no-crap homicide detective, and he was a spoiled, famous writer looking to “observe” a few cases. Of course, things took off from there, as he tagged along on all sorts of dangerous hijinks.
The more time they spent together, the more it became apparent to everyone (except them of course) that there were real feelings there. They eventually came around, confessing their love for each other, but neither of them made it easy for fans to relax and just enjoy their courtship. There was always some danger, some obstacle, some impediment, getting in their way.
Did they or didn’t they: They did. In fact, in the series finale, they are clinging together after they were both shot. If Castle hadn’t been canceled by ABC, one of the two probably would have died. It would most likely have been Beckett if you believe any of the behind the scenes rumors plaguing Castle in those days. In order to service fans and accommodate a finality to the very last episode every, writers tacked on a “seven years later” bit to make sure these two didn’t, in fact, die in each other’s arms. It was a bit of a letdown. Two dead leads would have been really gutsy.
How to watch it unfold: Unfortunately for die-hard fans, Castle isn’t available anywhere to stream, not even ABCGo. You can purchase episodes from Amazon and iTunes, if you’re just dying to see these two annoy each other to death.
