During SDCC a new Fantastic Beasts poster was revealed and what got people talking the most was how the poster strengthens the current Nagini theory.
Considering how closely connected Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter is, it’s not surprising that we have a lot of theories going around about the movie. To be honest, I’m surprised we don’t actually have more.
One popular theory is of Voldemorts famous pet snake and Horcrux, Nagini. The theory goes is that we will see the creation of the snake in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, or at some point in the Fantastic Beasts series.
When the first trailer was released, fans immediately started to point out that Claudia Kim, whose character only known as a ‘Maeldictus’ (a witch or wizard who is born with a curse which will see them turn into a beast), was part of the travelling circus and is pictured as a snake on the circus promos.

Coupled with her snakeskin legging clothing in promotional images; fans are pretty much convinced that she is Nagini and that she will become Voldemorts snake/Horcrux in the future.

Movie poster strengthens the theory
During SDCC a new promotional poster was released for the movie, prior to the new trailer, and the poster has pretty much convinced everyone that the Nagini theory is spot on.
The new poster features Kim next to Credence Barebone; a snake winds itself around the poster, with its head and tail coming either side of the Deathly Hallows symbol. Now considering the Deathly Hallows has a strong connection to the Horcruxs that Voldemort created, this detail in the poster has all but been seen as confirmation of the theory.
The likelihood is we will not learn the truth until the movie’s release. Unless a major leak happens the identity of Kim and the meaning of the snake will most likely be a closely guarded secret. But, considering all of the signs found so far, it will be surprising if there is no connection.
