Sex and The City, “Where There’s Smoke”

Sex and The City is yet another iconic show that could have filled this entire list with episode after episode that we could rewatch for days, but if we had to choose just one, this is a personal favorite.

Carrie and her best gal pals have been through so much together, from family deaths, to divorces, to infertility, and cancer, but the girls are truly at their best when they’re hanging out together and having fun. That’s why “Where There’s Smoke” is so perfect to watch over and over.

The girls are headed on a rare trip outside of Manhattan to Staten Island so Carrie can judge the New York Fire Department’s annual male calendar finalists selection. It probably isn’t easy to get Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha on a ferry, but for hot firemen and alcohol, they may make an exception. And they definitely indulged in both of those things that night.

Samantha goes home with the firefighter she thought was the hottest, because it was always her fantasy to sleep with a hot firemen in the fire station. When she finally gets the chance, it turns out it’s not as sexy as she thought it would be, because the fire alarm goes off as she and her hottie are lying there naked. In an instant, men are flooding into the room to get on their gear, and one of them yells at Samantha (who was wearing his firefighter uniform with nothing underneath) to give them their uniform back. Samantha is left there, covering her bits, when she realizes not all fantasies are as good as you think they’ll be.

Meanwhile, back in Staten Island, the usually demure and respectable Charlotte had a few too many cocktails, and is living her life on the dancefloor. When Miranda and Carrie are ready to head back to the city, they can’t find Charlotte, until they spot her twirling around to some disco classics.

How can anybody not love an episode that features Charlotte getting absolutely trashed and Samantha being stranded naked, surrounded by firemen?
