It is hard to believe that the Dark Knight came out 10 years ago. To celebrate the anniversary, theaters are planning a re-release of the movie.

The Dark Knight is still considered one of the greatest Batman movies to date. With an Oscar-winning performance by Heath Ledger as the Joker, the film is a classic among film lovers and comic book nerds.

To help us remember how amazing these movies are, select venues in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Toronto are showing the movie once again in IMAX. On August 24, The Dark Knight will return to theaters for the first time in 10 years and it is a must see if you haven’t yet on the big screen.

Still regarded as one of the greatest superhero movies ever made, the movie focuses on Bruce Wayne and the destruction that the Joker causes to Gotham city. We saw characters battle both internal and external conflicts, and dance between being heroes and villains. We also watched the demise of Harvey Dent and the birth of Two-Face.

The Dark Knight is a beautiful examination of what it means to be a hero and how fragile that image is in the eyes of those the hero is protecting. As Dent says, “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”.

With two iconic Batman villains, the movie is definitely one of the most beloved of Christopher Nolan’s series. If you haven’t yet seen it, it is one you’ll want to catch in IMAX if you have the chance.
