Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger taps into emotions this week, as both Tandy and Tyrone make their moves around the anniversary of the oil rig explosion

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger has been pretty consistent so far. Eight episodes in, and we’re starting to really ramp up on the action.

But how soon will it be before things really start to explode for our characters? They’ve had minor setbacks, sure (okay, Tyrone’s friend getting shot by O’Reilly is more than a minor setback), but will it ever get to that Agents of SHIELD level? You know, where everyone is in mortal danger?

Here is the official synopsis for this week’s episode, courtesy of Freeform:

"Tandy and Melissa prepare to commemorate the 8th anniversary of Nathan’s passing with their annual memorial tradition. When Tandy gets a key piece of information regarding her father, she uses this day to try and finally clear her father’s name. Meanwhile, Tyrone’s parents prefer not to mark the day Billy passed, but Tyrone’s need to keep Billy’s memory alive causes conflict among the three. Deciding today is the day he gets a confession out of Det. Connors, Tyrone goes to Det. O’Reilly for help."

So basically, this episode will tug at everyone’s heartstrings. The death of a loved one sucks around the anniversary, whether you try to ignore it or embrace it. It’ll be interesting to see the dynamic between Tyrone and his parents.

We’d like to see how Melissa is handling things at this point in the series. With the anniversary of Nathan’s death and her most current boyfriend getting killed, she’s going to be a bit of a mess.

Tandy should at least be in a good mood, what with Ivan Hess back and conscious. Someone’s luck has to change sooner or later, and I have a feeling that Cloak and Dagger will deliver in a big way.
