Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, how to get free gems?

Gems are the main currency of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, here is how you can get some for free.

If you are new to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, then you are probably still familiarizing yourself with everything. One thing you have probably figured out pretty quickly however are gems. Gems are the main source of currency in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and without them, you are going nowhere, or at least nowhere fast anyway.

You can of course just buy gems, but why part with your hard earned cash when you get gems for free? Yes, there are ways to do it and here they are right here.

How to get free gems in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery

First of all, you have the standard method of collecting free gems by completing classes, leveling friends through specific friend encounters and winning the house cup itself. These methods have been around for a while now and are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Another way to earn free gems is by playing “out of story” events with friends and leveling up. Whenever you level up you will be gifted with five free gems. This is not a full proof guaranteed way to earn free gems however. Eventually they will give out free energy instead.

Special in-game events in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery offer free gems as well. Events that challenge players to take classes that give out stars, which you exchange for house crests, which can then be turned into rewards, like gems.

Then there is the final and probably easiest of all methods, the ad watcher. Watching ads that appear in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery can see you be gifted with some free gems. You are limited on the amount you can watch per day but it’s not a bad way to earn them.

Once you have your gems, you can spend them on whatever you like. Just make sure you spend them wisely, because once they’re gone, they’re gone.
