Thank these celebs for food trends like green juice and butter coffee
Some celebrities are just like us in one tasty way: They appreciate the joys of food. But unlike us, their passion has the power to turn foods into trends!
When I worked in Hollywood, I was once advised by an actress: “If you ever become famous, avoid being photographed eating. It makes a woman look less attractive.” Well, I never became famous, but I have noticed that some stars never seem to be photographed consuming anything more substantial than a Starbucks coffee (make it a Venti, sweetie) or a glass of champagne (just a teeny tiny bit more, please).
However, fortunately for those of us who enjoy finding out details about our favorite stars, some celebrities are generous in sharing their food passions. The following foods have become star-worthy trends.
Green juice joy
The joy of green juice has celebrities juiced up. Kate Hudson, for example, believes that a healthy lifestyle means staying positive and keeping it simple. Her green juice recipe is as simple and tasty as her philosophy:
Ingredients
- 1 sliced cucumber
- 2 cups spinach
- 1 apple
- 6 leaves of mint
- 8 oz coconut water
Directions: Blend all ingredients in blender (or juicer). Pour into a glass and sip.
Kate’s mother, Goldie Hawn, keeps her own youthful looks with green juice as well. Goldie likes blending celery, kale, parsley, and green peppers.
Bone broth bliss
Bone broth has gone from “bone what?!” to a celebrity favorite. Stars who have shared that they are blissful over the benefits of bone broth include Shailene Woodley, Kobe Bryant, Mindy Kaling, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Salma Hayek.
Nutritionist to celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, Dr. Philip Goglia told E News that bone broth contains “dozens of different nutrients.” You can either sip bone broth or use it in recipes in order to achieve the benefits, which Goglia says include promoting “healthy gut integrity while reducing permeability and inflammation.”
Shailene Woodley is such a fan that she shared her bone broth mixture recipe with David Letterman. The actress revealed that she drinks this beverage each morning.
Butter coffee charisma
You might think of butter as appropriate for spreading on bread, mashing into potatoes, and whipping into frosting. But celebrities have turned the art of butter coffee (sometimes referred to as bulletproof coffee) into a caffeinated trend.
Busy Philipps confessed to People that she is “obsessed” with her bulletproof coffee, which she makes with unsalted butter, coffee, a coconut oil extract, and collagen protein powder. The coffee’s claims include boosting energy and making “your brain work better,” said Dave Asprey, author of The Bulletproof Diet.
Tim Tebow told Delish that he has his own special recipe for butter coffee. Tebow keeps his caffeine lower by mixing half-decaf and half-regular coffee. He stirs in “a tap of heavy organic whipping cream,” a small amount of Kerrygold butter, a bit of unsweetened almond milk, and a few drops of English toffee flavored liquid Stevia.

Tim admits that it tastes a “little bit like a milkshake.” But although Tebow’s butter proof coffee might sound like a guilty pleasure, he says that it’s a “fantastic” way to “kickstart” your day.
We’ll drink to that!
