Here’s proof that Nathan Fillion should definitely play Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie

Nathan Fillion posted a mysterious photo to Instagram that definitely seems to hint at something Uncharted-related. Could he play the lead role?

The upcoming Uncharted movie might get an extra bit of star power. That is, if everything plays out as fans hope it will.

The movie’s already got Tom Holland on board, who’ll likely play a young version of the lead character, Nathan Drake. But Nathan Fillion might be joining on set as well. While nothing’s confirmed just yet, a photo Fillion posted to Instagram has some fans suspicious that he’ll have his next big role in the Uncharted movie.

Of course, Fillion wouldn’t make this easy for us by outright announcing that he’s going to be in the movie. That’s not what seasoned explorers do. Instead, the photo he posted shows a photo of Drake, along with the caption “Sic Parvis Magna. 7/16/18.”

People have already been quick to point out that the Latin phrase “Sic Parvis Magna” (“greatness from small beginnings”) is a phrase in the game that dates back to the OG explorer, Francis Drake. Why else would he use the picture of Drake for this post?

As for the date, it’s likely that the real announcement will come that day, July 16. This is all slightly ahead of Comic-Con next weekend, so we might get even more information from Sony or the production studio following the announcement on Monday.

While Tom Holland is supposedly playing a young Nathan Drake, it wouldn’t surprise us if Fillion were cast as him as an adult. The two, after all, have an uncanny resemblance to one another. Take, for instance, this photo of Nathan Drake from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

Considering all this hard evidence that Nathan Fillion and Nathan Drake are clearly the same person, we think it’d be a shame if he wasn’t cast in the role. Sure, he could play a completely different character or maybe do a voice in another Uncharted video game, but this is the kind of casting news we need. We’ll be holding our breath until Monday.
