Fantastic Beasts 2 will be here before you know it. Before then, here’s your new image of Newt’s return to the franchise.
November will see us delve back into the world of wizards and magic with Fantastic Beasts 2. We’ve already had a promo released, but now it’s time for the images. This new image of Newt Scamander’s return certainly gets us excited for The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Newt is the one put to the test again in this sequel to the Harry Potter prequel movies. Dumbledore can’t take on Grindelwald himself, so he needs his protégé to do it for him. The most recent image is an exclusive from Empire, which will be part of the August issue.

We don’t get to learn much about the movie. Newt has his briefcase open and is holding his wand at someone or something. One important element inside the magical briefcase is the image of Tina Goldstein, who has clearly been reinstated as an Auror since Grindelwald was recaptured. That couldn’t have ended any other way, could it? It certainly explains why she’s not one of the main characters running around France in the promos.

Despite on Dumbledore’s mission, Newt also continues to investigate the best beasts. After all, he needs to create his text book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in full. Some of the sketches in the briefcase include the jerboa-like marsupial mouse and the spiral-shelled snail. Will we get to see any of them during the movie?
What we don’t get to know is what he’s pointing his wand up. There’s not even a shadow anywhere to give us a clue, except right in the back corner but it’s not very clear. Will this be the next big thing for him to face?
