16. Jeremy, “Hose Before Bros” (S1, E8)

Let’s make one thing clear: every makeover on Queer Eye has been good in some way. Jeremy is a selfless man who used his makeover to benefit his fellow firefighters and to improve their firehouse. Was his change drastic? No, but his heart was in the right place.

Jeremy was nominated by his fire chief, Stoney, because of his lack of fashion sense. His style is very ordinary, or “basic bitch” as Tan so eloquently puts it. It consists of lots of t-shirts, wrinkled cargo shorts, and Crocs. Jeremy doesn’t care about fashion and when he has the money, he prefers to use it on his wife or his five adopted children. He also has this idea in his head that he doesn’t deserve to be pampered because he’s so used to giving back to everyone else.

Jonathan gives him a stylish new haircut, but it’s really just a cleaned up version of what he already had. Tan gave him a sophisticated new wardrobe, which definitely made him more excited to see his wife. Antoni gave him a lesson on making… hot dogs. And as usual, Bobby hit it out of the park with his makeover of the firehouse.

The most drastic part of the makeover was the firehouse kitchen, complete with all new appliances, which was the perfect place for those firefighters to kick back and relax. It doesn’t seem like the change in Jeremy was all that crazy, but at least the Queer Eye guys gave the firefighters a nice new environment.

It wasn’t all a loss though. We did get to see some steamy firemen in action!
