Things were looking dire at the end of last week’s episode of Preacher. The preview for this week opens new conflicts and visits old.

When we last left AMC’s Preacher, things weren’t looking so good. Jesse hadn’t gotten his soul back, and Gran’ma found out he was trying to escape Angelville. With the Grail MIA after Tulip’s shootout, Jesse now has to bide his time and work with his Gran’ma until he can figure a way out.

In the sneak peek on AMC’s website, things seem almost normal. Jody apologizes for interrupting something, while Jesse more or less blows it off. TC comes in and starts talking about Cassidy. He unintentionally lets Cassidy’s accelerated healing factor slip, which in turn makes Jody suspicious.

The arrival of Tulip brings an atmospheric change. Jody leaves as she heads for the coffee machine, and as she’s making a cup Jesse tells her he’s going to check on Cassidy. Telling her to sit tight he leaves the room as she does, taking a seat at the kitchen table.

Jesse reluctantly leaves her to TC, and as soon as he’s gone TC turns to Tulip and asks if she wants to see his… dingle.

Yeah.

The sneak peek cuts off there, so we have to wait until Sunday to see Tulip’s reaction. Since she’s a strong, take-no-shit woman, it’s a pretty easy guess as to what might happen.

As for what’s “gonna hurt,” Jesse stabbing Cassidy in the shoulder seems like a good place to start. Presumably, it has to do with — surprise! — Tulip. You would think a hundreds-of-years-old vampire would have more sense.
