Ilvermorny and the Fourth of July: How do the wizards celebrate in America?

facebooktwitterreddit

We know that the kids at Hogwarts do not celebrate but what do the wizards from Ilvermorny do for the Fourth of July? Is there a magical event?

The Fourth of July has to be honored by students of Ilvermorny right? They are an American wizarding school and this holiday is about as distinctly American as one can get. So wouldn’t the witches and wizards of America want to celebrate?

The question isn’t really do they honor the Fourth but rather if they celebrate it differently than what we’re, as Americans, are used to. We know the holiday for barbecues, fireworks, and spending the day outside by the pool.

So do wizards take their swimsuits out to the water and relax on the Fourth of July or is there something much more magical about the holiday on their end? We know that they can produce very cool fireworks using magic so that might be the best part of it all.

That being said, the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movies are probably not going to focus on the holiday or answer any of our questions. Maybe we can just get a sneak peak into how they use their wands for fireworks again and so we can see what a wizarding Fourth would entail.

Hopefully Tina, Queenie, Jacob and all the American wizards and witches out there eat their hotdogs and enjoy the day off from work as we celebrate the Fourth of July around the United States.
