Check out July’s free Xbox Games with Gold that you can play now
Start out July with Assault Android Cactus and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, then grab Death Squared and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction mid-month.
This month, Xbox Gold members get access to four new games for free with Assault Android Cactus being available the whole month. Be sure to grab Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown before the 15th for your Xbox One or Xbox 360. Once July 16th rolls around, the final two games will be available: Death Squared for the Xbox One, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction for Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Assault Android Cactus
Couch co-op games are increasingly rare these days. With Assault Android Cactus‘ arcade-style shooter gameplay, this is sure to be a popular choice for gatherings with friends. You play as Junior Constable Cactus who has to battle through robot workers gone bad after she responds to a space freighter’s distress call. Using a top-down isometric view, up to 4 local players can blast their way through enemies and take on giant bosses. Assault Android Cactus is Xbox One X Enhanced with 4K Ultra HD and is available from July 1 to July 31.
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown
Virtua Fighter is one of the classic fighting-game franchises. In this Xbox Gold available title, you’ll get the definitive version of Virtua Fighter 5 that comes packed with modern enhancements. Paired with the other Games with Gold titles, you’ve got the start of a great night in with friends. Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is available for Xbox Gold subscribers from July 1 to July 15 for both Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Death Squared
Yet another co-op capable game, Death Squared is a cooperative puzzle game for up to 4 players. There is a single-player campaign that can also be played with two players, but the 4 player party mode will be great for those post-summer BBQ get-togethers. The goal is to get your colored robot to its goal while avoiding traps and communication with the other players will be key. Death Squared is available starting July 16 to August 15 for the Xbox One.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction
This action-adventure stealth game of the long-lasting Splinter Cell series is the fourth Games with Gold title available this month. With positive reviews and new gameplay for the series, such as the ability to mark enemies, this single-player game is a winner. However, like the other free games this month, Splinter Cell Conviction also features a co-op prologue section, for split-screen action that adds more to the story. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction is available from July 16 to July 31 for both the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
