Murder on the Orient Express (Daisy Ridley)

Look there are lots of reasons why you should go out and see Murder on the Orient Express. Based on the Agatha Christie story, the movie is definitely a Kenneth Branagh masterpiece. With twists and turns and a message that is very much a product of time, it is just a fun time.

Daisy Ridley plays the Governess (Miss Mary Debenham) and she brings an honesty to the movie that would definitely be missing without her presence. She has this ability to convey everything she’s thinking through just one look and, with Murder on the Orient Express, it brings a humanity to what is happening around them.

When one of the passengers is murdered on the train, Hercule Poirot must use his detective abilities to try and figure out how the murder happened and why. Honestly, the twist at the end (if you haven’t read the story before) is so perfect that we can’t really talk about it.

It is emotional, beautiful, and a perfect footnote to the mess that 2017 was. Obviously, it is very dramatic. It is a Branagh film after all, but it is a great adaptation of the Agatha Christie work. And it has Daisy Ridley being perfect in it! What’s not to love?
