Annihilation (Oscar Isaac)

Is Oscar Isaac the most important person in this movie? No. Does Natalie Portman actively go into a terribly creepy place to try and find Oscar Isaac? Yes and that makes her extremely relatable. Truly a whirlwind of a movie, Annihilation is one of the best movies of 2018 so far.

While it also features Stars Wars actress Natalie Portman, she’s not in The Last Jedi. We can just praise the fact that Padme Amidala went on to marry Poe Dameron though. And then he went and got himself lost in this weird alien goop world that made people murderous.

Beware, this isn’t for the faint of heart. When scientists discover this alien crash site, they notice that normal life there begins to shift and evolve. They send in soldiers and scientists to figure out what is happening.

Oscar Isaac is one of them and when he “returns” from the void, he seems different and not like himself. So his wife (Natalie Portman) volunteers to go as well. It is a wild ride filled with lots of jumps and terrifying twists that no one can predict. But what is really nice is the ever-changing accent of Oscar Isaac and how cute he is with Natalie at the beginning of the movie.
