Want to cry a lot and not understand why someone would want to break your heart in that way? Great, then you should definitely watch Never Let Me Go. Kazuo Ishiguro wrote the novel that the film is based on and it is one of those movies that you remember exists and instantly want to cry.

The movie is about kids who grow up in a school where they are treated as “special” children. It is obvious that they are clones meant to grow and mature but donate their organs as their originator needs them.

There is a rule to the school about falling in love and, if you do, then you get a little grace period before you must start donating. While out of the ordinary, the movie does shine a light on the terrifying future we can make for ourselves with the idea of cloning.

These are people with real thoughts and feelings that have to sacrifice themselves against their nature to help those people free in the world. It is very hard to watch and isn’t really fair but watching these kids grow and find love truly is fascinating to see. Just be mentally prepared for everything that is Never Let Me Go.
