50/50 is a movie starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen about Seth’s real friend (screenwriter Will Reiser). The film focuses on his cancer diagnosis and how he managed to get through it with his friends and his family.

The movie is surprisingly funny. Even through the rougher parts, there is a light to it that keeps you laughing along with these friends who just want to be there for one another. It obviously has its darker moments. After all, about a man who only has a 50/50 chance of surviving a necessary surgery.

The performances are absolutely incredible and it is just one of those heartwarming films that shows the importance of having your own support system. Whether it is with your friends or the family you were born into, having those close to you there when you’re going through something like this is extremely important.

Again though, it isn’t fun at times. There is a specific moment before he is heading into surgery that will break those watching it completely. Overall, it is a great movie and one that will leave you wanting to call your mom and hug your friends. It’s worth your time so definitely check it out!
