Avengers 4 could have beardless Steve Rogers, and we’re not okay
The Avengers 4 alleged art dumps continue on the internet, and this one suggests Steve Rogers might not have a beard in the film.
Set aside your feelings about the usage of Steve Rogers (or lack thereof) in Avengers: Infinity War. It is known that the beard he sports is probably one of the very best parts of the film (at least in terms of costuming, but we’re going to say just best in general).
So, now that MCU Exchange has posted still more believed art from Avengers 4, the first thing that we note is that this rendered Steve has no beard.
We can only respond with disapproval because look: Captain America has always been one of the cuties of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But the beard? The beard was an upgrade of most excellent proportions.
Here’s a reminder, just because:
Granted, Steve’s possibly shaving it off could be a visual cue that he’s returned to a more openly heroic status instead of being on the run. After Thanos’ snap, the world might decide it needs heroes (even ones thought of as criminals) again to rise up. Cap certainly fits that bill as one of the Avengers and also, if his trading cards are any indication, one of the more popular and well-known heroes anyway.
But that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t also rock the beard, right? Alas, it seems like it’s probably not meant to be, at least in this concept art.
In terms of other looks? We also spot Black Widow with longer hair — and it’s back to red for her instead of the blonde she sports in Infinity War. It makes for an interesting contrast to Steve’s shaving, if only because it suggests she doesn’t have time to dye her hair anymore while he has time to shave regularly. Then again, hair dye requires longer and more in-depth maintenance.

Either way, the both of them probably have more concerns than how they look, considering Thanos is still out there.
