What about James Sirius and Lily Luna Potter in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?

The play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child seems to focus on Harry and his son, Albus. But what about James and Lily Potter? What are they like?

Obviously there is a lot going on in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. With everything happening between Albus and Harry, it is clear that there are more important issues than Harry being a father to his other two children.

Right? Well granted, they are not the focal point of the play. That being said, it is strange that we don’t get to see Harry really interacting with his children otherwise. When it comes to Lily and James, they’re just names.

There is a moment when Harry talks about why it is easier to parent the two of them and, to be honest, it is kind of lame. They’re easy because they’re more like him? No, in reality the problem with Albus is that he’s the most like Harry Potter out of all of his children.

He’s stubborn, he just wants to prove he’s right and he’s willing to fight for his beliefs. Who does that sound like? Oh right, Harry Potter himself. It’s just funny that Harry very clearly doesn’t recognize those characteristics in himself.

What he sees in Albus is the bits of Ginny and that’s what he loves. Which is sweet when you think about it. It’s just funny that he completely ignores the fact that Albus is very much Harry Potter’s son.

So maybe Harry Potter thinks it’s easier to raise James and Lily but it still would have been nice to see more of them. We basically got the two of them running into a scene and then leaving so that Harry could talk to Albus before sending him to Hogwarts.
