Lost in Translation (Scarlett Johansson)

Scarlet Johansson has been around for years but a film that set her soaring was Lost in Translation. Her best work is probably in Her but the problem with that movie is that she isn’t seen in it. (She’s the IO system that talks to Joaquin Phoenix throughout the movie.)

While she is a household name, her career is surprisingly light on movies that fans would enjoy which is, arguably, the problem with Hollywood. Lost in Translation is one of those movies that you might not understand the first time you watch it and that’s fine, it isn’t for everyone. But that being said, it is still a great film. It is artistic, beautiful, and gives us Scarlet Johansson in a pink wig looking like Natalie Portman in Closer.

It’s still the beginning of the Scarlet Johansson that we have since come to love and it is overall a really good movie to watch. Now that doesn’t mean that it has necessarily aged well but it is worth visiting (or taking another look at if you saw it when it first came out) to see how much Scarlet Johansson has changed.
