Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Ready for an attack? Maybe?

What sorts of things are happening for Game of Thrones season 8? Well, it’s pretty much just something rather mysterious in King’s Landing.

Warning: It’s time for some new Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers, in the form of photos below.

Whether or not this is a clue as to who carries the attack on King’s Landing out in Game of Thrones season 8 is really up to you. Frankly, we here at Culturess are of two minds about who’s going to be responsible in-universe for building the latest contraption spotted at the King’s Landing set in Belfast by regular spoiler A Red Priestess.

The consensus both on r/freefolk and on Take the Black Live, where yours truly and Winter is Coming’s Dan Selcke discussed the photo, is that this is something for a siege. R/freefolk explained it best as a shield of sorts to help attackers reach the walls of the city.

The look of it is pretty northern — r/freefolk cited, well, the freefolk themselves. One commenter suggested it actually appears at Winterfell first. But it’s hard not to suspect that it’s at King’s Landing just because of where it’s constructed. That’s not something that’s easy to transport, so why build it in Belfast and then move it to Magheramorne or somewhere else?

It could be that this is actually constructed by the armies of the dead. It looks kind of haphazard, and they’re able to use tools like the chains used to haul Viserion out of the frozen lake beyond the Wall. That is, of course, pure speculation, and by no means is definitive since it could just be a last-ditch creation, but it’s a plausible theory with combined with another theory, which is that the white smoke seems to herald the White Walkers (it’s originally from Winter is Coming, to be fair).

Here’s the photo in question. Take a look and see what you think:
