5 reasons we heart Chandler Riggs, from his music to love of video games

Today is Chandler Riggs’ 19th birthday and what better way to help him celebrate than to talk about why we love him so much!

Chandler Riggs has grown up in the spotlight as a child actor. He started his career in musical theater as a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz. But his most notable role was playing Carl, the hard-headed yet loving kid of Rick Grimes on The Walking Dead. Today is Chandler Riggs’ 19th birthday and we wanted to discuss all the reasons we love him!

He is an amazing actor

I have been watching The Walking Dead from the first season. Like so many others, I have seen Chandler Riggs grow up from a young boy to a strong man. But he also gained amazing acting chops along the way. Chandler Riggs’ exit from The Walking Dead was heartbreaking and beautifully done. His performance made me cry and for a teenager to have that effect is awesome.

Chandler Riggs is now creating music

After his exit from The Walking Dead, Chandler Riggs announced a career change. He decided to get into music and even has an alter ego named Eclipse. He releases electronic music on his SoundCloud where he has over 11,000 followers. My favorite track he has released is “Soar,” which starts off slow and has a tranquil feel. Chandler only has seven tracks released right now but I’m sure he will be adding more to his SoundCloud soon.

He can rap pretty well

We know that he creates amazing electronic music, but did you also know Riggs has tried his hand at rapping? Well, not professionally but he did rap on Drop the Mic, created by James Corden. Chandler went against Chad L. Coleman who played Tyreese on The Walking Dead.

The show’s premise is to create a hilarious rap battle and see who wins. Chandler started off the battle with a savage rap about Tyreese dying after “looking at a shelf” and then said, “Tonight I’m Negan and the mic is Lucille”. Maybe Riggs should make a rap album? I know I’d buy it.

Chandler is hilarious

While we didn’t get to see too much of his humor on The Walking Dead, in real life Chandler Riggs is hilarious. You can especially see that on his social media accounts. His Twitter account is filled with funny tweets on a regular basis. My personal favorite Tweet is of him remembering the good old days of being Carl.

He is a nerd just like us

I love everything about Chandler Riggs, especially how into gaming he is. He has been involved with several gaming events like the Fortnite tournament or PUBG and streams on his Twitch channel. Chandler has even teamed up with Xbox to film an Xbox Live Sessions playing State of Decay 2. He plays for fun and loves doing it and it is cool to watch an actor stream all the time because Chandler is an awesome nerd.
