Mantis is an absolutely incredible character with a pretty crazy ability. She can sense emotions and change how you feel, hence her importance in the fight against Thanos. She’s such an innocent character that we, as fans, just love to see her succeed.

A character that maybe wouldn’t have gone on to become a fan favorite, there is just something about Mantis that has everyone loving her and wanting to make sure she is safe. Which results in many of us drawing her looking innocent and weak.

Maybe that’s part of her charm as a character. She doesn’t look powerful or like she’d be that important and yet she is. She was the one who was in charge of subduing Thanos when no one else could.

This work is great because it shows Mantis in the innocent light that we have come to love from her while also giving her a kind of power that many don’t include in their artwork.
