Wet Hot American Summer

It’s time to take a trip back to summer camp, but this time, you’re hanging with the counselors and not the campers!

It’s 1981, and the summer is coming to an end at Camp Firewood. The camp counselors still have so much left to accomplish before heading back into the real world, and there’s not very much time left to get it all done. Camp director Beth falls for the local astrophysics professor, who is busy trying to save the camp from a deadly piece of NASA’s Skylab heading towards earth, so she’s not keeping any of the campers in order.

With the campers out of control, you would hope the counselors would try to maintain some calm. But they’re too busy getting down to business and having all kinds of hijinx by themselves, including a dangerous waterfall rescue, love triangles, fighting misfits, and talking vegetable cans.

This movie is ridiculous, hilarious, and all over the place. Plus, it had an all-star cast of comedians who were on the cusp of stardom, including Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Christopher Meloni, and more. Imagine going to a camp with all those hilarious people working there?

If you liked Wet Hot American Summer, you can also catch the limited series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, both of which include a handful of the huge stars who appeared in the cult fave movie. If you really don’t want to get any fresh air, just binge them all at the same time and make a whole day out of it.
