These folks are definitely pushing audiences’ buttons, but we just can’t help ourselves. Here are 15 TV characters we love to hate.
You gotta love ’em… even though they suck. These characters may rub us the wrong way, but for some reason, we just can’t help ourselves but love them. Whether they are villains we secretly root for, underdogs we want to win, or are just endlessly annoying but lovable, these are the 15 TV characters we love to hate.
The days of the “good guy” are long behind us. As a collective viewing audience, we don’t really connect with characters that are all good or all bad. We need nuance and complexity, and we are often left battling our own feelings about a particular character. If you doubt the polarizing nature of any of these particular characters, one visit to Twitter with a thoughtful hashtag and you will see just how varying the feelings are.
I’m pretty sure you’re going to disagree with some of these, but just hear us out. You can’t deny that some of these folks inspire extreme emotion, and even though they are mostly awful, we just can’t deny their attraction or charm. I concede this isn’t a comprehensive list, but I’d love to hear which TV characters you love to hate, no matter how unpopular an opinion it is.
