Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are back again with another collaboration. This time their newest single comes from Grande’s upcoming album, Sweetener.

When it comes to summer anthems, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj seem to know exactly what they are doing. Whether they are working together or separately, these two hitmakers have figured out how to make the kind of music that we want to play on repeat.

While the two musical powerhouses may have just released a single last week, that isn’t stopping them from bringing their fans another collaboration, this time off of Grande’s upcoming album, Sweetener.

Although last week’s “Bed” had a more laid back, slow-dance type feel to it, “The Light is Coming” gives fans more of a dance-track-type vibe. And with Pharrell producing the newest track, it makes sense that this single is going to feel like it is its own dance party.

Nicki Minaj kicks off the track with her signature sound and rap flow, while the majority of the single is all about Ariana Grande and her vocal abilities. In just under four minutes of unique sounds and beats, Grande and Minaj give us impressive lyrics such as “The light is coming to give back everything the darkness stole” and “Give you a box of chances, every time you blow it all.”

When it comes to the two newest singles from Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, the feel is definitely different. While “Bed” gives a much slower vibe that is sensual and flirty, “The Light is Coming” feels more like a party anthem, especially with its use of background vocals and electronic beats.

The more you listen to the new single, the more you get out of both the lyrics and the sound. Each time feels like a new experience as you hear more of what is happening in the background of the track, as well as in the lyrics themselves.

With the release of “The Light is Coming,” fans also learned that Ariana Grande’s Sweetener will be dropping on August 17, which means there are just under two months until we get to hear what else the singer has in store for us. If the first two singles off of the new album are anything to go by, it sounds like Grande is going to have another home run on her hands when Sweetener is released.
