Sandra Bullock, being one of America’s sweethearts and a legitimate movie star, seems perfect to take the reins from George Clooney in the Ocean’s franchise. Both are similarly beloved actors. And as we find out in Ocean’s 8, Bullock’s character Debbie is actually Danny Ocean’s (Clooney) younger sister.

The impetus for this newest caper is the time that Debbie served in prison after her ex-boyfriend Claude snitched on her for their art fraud. During the over 5.5 years (fine; 5 years, 8 months, 12 days) that Debbie spends behind bars, she devises a plan to steal the Toussaint, a $150 million Cartier necklace that has been in a vault for 50 years. Beyond the money that she and her assembled team will receive for selling diamonds from the necklace, Ocean also plans to get revenge on Claude by pinning it all on him.

The Met Gala, also the scene of the movie crime, is where fashion comes out to play. Apparently, Sandra Bullock had strong ideas about what her dress should look like for the event: a sleeve to conceal the jewels she would be stealing, and black so that she also would not be obvious. Designer Alberta Ferretti created a breezy yet elegant solution and even included a nod to the Ocean last name.

The gold embellishment on Bullock’s dress reminds us of an almost Vegas-like starburst theme. Check out this amazing deco robe dress. Pair it with a simple black bodysuit, or go all-out with glittery gold leggings, and you’ll steal any scene.
