Todd Fisher opened up about the death of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, but he had some particularly interesting things to say about Star Wars.

Carrie Fisher was a staple in the Star Wars franchise. With her passing, many fans were worried about what would happen to the future of Leia Organa. We know now that she managed to survive in the aftermath of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, but will Lucasfilm just kill her in the distance between the films — or somehow have her carry on?

If Todd Fisher has anything to say about it, she’d come back stronger than ever. He pointed out to Variety that Obi-Wan said he’d come back stronger in the Force than he was in life and that he hopes the same happens with Leia because that’s what he thought about Carrie.

A woman who struggled through most her adult life with drug addiction and mental illness, Carrie Fisher showed young people everywhere that they can persevere and overcome anything in their way. She was so strong in life, so of course we all want to believe that Carrie and Leia would be even stronger in the afterlife.

Lucasfilm still hasn’t reached out to the Fisher/Lourd family about the rest of Carrie’s (and Leia’s) storyline, but it can only be assumed that she will either be mentioned simply by name or be CGI’d into the film to finish out her story.

As the only remaining member of the original trio, it is going to be hard to see the last Star Wars without a Leia Organa to help lead the Resistance. Still, with no news yet, maybe Leia will take to our screens once more to finish out the story she started in that galaxy a long, long time ago.
