It’s Father’s Day, but these 14 pop culture dads won’t be receiving cards from us (and probably not from their kids either).

It’s Father’s Day, and we’re sending our love and appreciation to all of the good dads out there. But even while we do this, it’s important to remember that not every father deserves a card and a #1 Dad mug. If we’re being honest, some of them may even deserve a good kick in the shins.

This is especially true of a lot of pop culture fathers. We know most stories would be boring without conflict and difficult pasts to contend with. But who decided to make fictional fathers so problematic?

From Blockbuster films to hit television series, there always seems to be at least one father making life difficult for the rest of the family. Here are just a few fictional characters who show us exactly what dads shouldn’t be like.
