It’s official: summer is here, and it’s just too hot to do anything outside. So why not stay cool, stay inside, and catch some must-see TV?
As the temperatures make it harder and harder to enjoy the outdoors, it’s becoming clear that we’re going to have to find our fun inside where there’s air conditioning… like binging some great TV shows.
Summer used to be a television wasteland, featuring a lot of reruns, shows long into syndication, and tons of infomercials. Thank goodness, the TV times are a’ changing, and summer can be just as poppin’ as fall. This guide to summer TV is a healthy collection of really awesome shows premiering this summer. Some are returning as part of the warm-weather canon. Others are making their debut to the fun, light-hearted, and whimsical summer schedule.
Summer shows need to be light fare, since so much of our energy is devoted to keeping cool, drinking white wine, and finding a pool on the weekends. Not only do these shows (mostly) fit the bill, some of them are critically acclaimed darlings. So, while you’re whiling the hours away inside the comfort of your cool living room, you can also get caught up on what’s trending in the world of TV.
