Nicki Minaj promised fans a new single off of her upcoming album Queen, and she delivered. With Ariana Grande’s help, Minaj gave the world ‘Bed.’
On June 7, when Nicki Minaj unveiled the cover for her new album Queen, which is set to release in August, she promised that this week she would be giving us a brand new single. Well, the queen has certainly delivered, as she joined forces with Ariana Grande again in order to bring us her new track “Bed.”
Together, Minaj and Grande are back to combine their vocal talents on a single that is both fun and sensual. Much like how her last album gave the world a combination of styles, it sounds like her new one will be doing much the same.
Based on the first few singles that have been released off of Queen, it looks like Nicki Minaj plans to stick with both her harder hip-hop sounds and her club-style beats. And with 19 tracks to enjoy, there’s plenty of material for fans to appreciate.
With “Bed,” fans of both Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj get a song with lyrics that are enticing and captivating, even as it makes you want to do some slow dancing in a club. Plus, this is a song that has a slower feel to it in terms of the music, while still having beats that are entertaining and engaging. Not only do the lyrics scream sexual tension, but Minaj even gives a shout out to one of her other famous singer friends in the song.
At one point, Nicki Minaj sings, “He go insane on it, I put my fame on it. Coulda been Zayne on it, but I put your name on it.”
Considering that Zayne and Minaj have a song of their own that is in the works, it seems fitting that he gets a mention in her newest single. Plus, the rapper even tweeted that the song she worked on with the former One Direction singer is her “favorite song of all time.”
While Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande clearly know how to give the world great music, especially with this latest track for the upcoming Queen album, fans of the two musicians actually have even more to look forward to. In fact, another duet from the two, “The Light is Coming,” is scheduled to release next week, this time from Grande’s upcoming album, Sweetener.
