Now that E3 is coming to a close, it’s time to look back on the best trailers from all around the gaming world, from a new Smash to a long-awaited sequel.

The onslaught that is E3 2018 is coming to an end. If you haven’t been paying attention, though, you have a lot to catch up on. From new announcements to the very latest looks at titles we’ve heard about over the years, it’s been almost a week of gaming news.

Fortunately, we here at Culturess understand that sometimes you can’t keep up with everything! Real life is pesky like that.

That’s why we’ve compiled the 10 best trailers shown throughout E3. Many trailers entered. Few were chosen. They are, of course, in no particular order.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Shadow of the Tomb Raider doesn’t really need anything resembling an introduction, but we still got to see both gameplay and a better look at the story. Ultimately, the former seemed a little more important just because it was the best look yet at the experience of the game in general — not prettied up for a trailer or anything like that.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

We all knew it existed thanks to some leaks, but even with that in mind, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey managed to wow upon its appearance at Ubisoft’s conference. Not only does it promise the ability to play as a woman for the first time, it also lets you go to Ancient Greece. You can wear dramatic helmets, wield Leonidas’ weapon, and generally do all the stuff you’ve come to expect from the series.

Control

Coming from the Sony conference — and not one of the main games the company focused on — Control looks like a twisty futuristic game that might just have some horror and thriller elements to it, considering that it’s set in “the oldest house,” which seems to constantly shift and change. We’re not complaining about any of it, because you can also apparently fly or at the very least mess with gravity. It’ll be out in 2019.

Cyberpunk 2077

If there’s any trailer here that deserves to be dubbed stylish, it’s the one for Cyberpunk 2077. Sure, it might not have a release date or anything like that, but it does look really interesting in terms of its city design and the retrofitted muscle cars that litter the streets of 2077 — at least this version of 2077.

DOOM Eternal

During the Bethesda showcase, it was promised that DOOM Eternal would show off “hell on earth,” and just on the teaser alone, we believe Bethesda. It doesn’t have anything remotely resembling gameplay, but it’s still a big announcement and come on: it’s DOOM. The all capital letters say it all.
