Star Wars fan turns Amazon’s Alexa into Lando’s sassy L3-37 droid

Wish you could have your very own L3-37 from Solo: A Star Wars Story? Well, if you’ve got some handy skill like one YouTuber, you could be in luck.

Star Wars fans are very creative, and even more so after seeing Solo: A Star Wars Story. One fan specifically even went as far as to make their very own L3-37. So if you loved that sassy droid who was on a mission for equality for her own kind, you may be in luck.

Lando’s friend (and an integral part of the Millennium Falcon) became a fan favorite with her attitude towards Lando and her willingness to speak her mind. So when a fan hacked into an Amazon Alexa to make their very own L3-37, we all got pretty jealous.

Patrick Stefanski is the talented hacker who even made it so that L3 would respond to her name, using technology already built into the Alexa to make this droid come to life. Should we all hack our Alexas and make them act like the droid we fell in love with?

Maybe not, but it is fascinating to see how far this love of the series can take fans. From real life BB-8 droids to Chewbacca costumes that have everyone believing they are looking at the Wookie himself, fans and their adoration for the Star Wars series knows no bounds.

Really though, it makes sense. This is a series that has spanned generations, and with that comes with a lot of love and dedication to the characters and work presented. Now, can we get to mass producing these L3-37 droids though? Everyone should have a sidekick like her!

You can see how he assembles the sassy, independent droid in the video below:

We also think this kind of dedication will get the Star Wars fandom back on track for our Fandom 250 as added bonus points following the fans supported Kelly Marie Tran after she deleted her Instagram account. We’re keeping track of all the big fandoms this year, and only the most dedicated fans and fandoms will make it to the top.

You can still see Solo: A Star Wars Story in theaters now. It is a great addition to the Star Wars franchise and shows us what a young Han Solo would be… Could use more Lando Calrissian, though.
