Tamara conspires to get Gretchen “naked wasted” – RHOC

Baby Housewife, Gretchen Rossi, didn’t know what she was getting herself into when she joined this cast of sneaky, catty women. As I mentioned before, this cast is never openly aggressive with each other, and I don’t think there has ever been an instance of physical violence, yet their menace is just as damaging and incendiary.

At a dinner party in Gretchen’s first season, Tamara conspired with Vickie and her son Ryan to get Gretchen “naked wasted” as a way to embarrass her and encourage bad decisions on camera. You can see Tamara demanding more and more shots of tequila, yet not taking them herself. Gretchen, on the other hand, continued to drink, and she got sloppier and sloppier as the night went on.

What’s so outrageous about this is the unabashedly forthright attempt to sabotage. Most times, the women are much more covert in their tactics, whispering behind each other’s backs and being snarky in their talking head interviews. The sheer blatancy of Tamara’s plot is what I find most repugnant and surprising.

Things could have gotten a lot more humiliating for poor Gretchen as she was almost involved in a bit of a make-out session with Tamara’s son. They slipped off together, without cameras thankfully, and I’d like to believe nothing happened from there. We’ll never know.

Gretchen wised up pretty quickly as the seasons went on, and grew a pretty healthy skepticism when it came to the other ladies intentions. Her relationship with the slimy, Slade, indicates that she might not have applied this same wisdom to her personal relationships, but at least she knew better than to accept a drink from any of the ladies.
