Today, Prince would have turned 60. In honor of the Purple One, here are the best tributes from around the internet, including shows like Jeopardy!

It still feels a little surreal that we live in a world that no longer has Prince making music. Earlier this year, we marked the second anniversary of his passing. But today is what would have been his 60th birthday, and more people are choosing today to honor him.

That includes confirmation from his estate, per A.V. Club, that an album of material called Piano & a Microphone: 1983 will arrive later this year. Just listen to the first single from the album, Prince’s cover of “Mary Don’t You Weep”.

Even without that news, though, we think people would have celebrated Prince’s birthday — or, as the hashtag goes on Twitter, #PrinceDay.

Here are some of the tributes that have already gone up or are planned.

Ava DuVernay simply captioned her collection of photos with “Thank you, sir.” Of course, the purple umbrella emoji fit in perfectly.

Common posted this tweet, along with the infamous video of Dave Chapelle dressed as Prince. if you haven’t listened to this story, oh it is a treat. (Warning: the above tweet contains strong language.)

But he also had another tweet:

If you’ve seen Jeopardy!, you know the board usually has a blue background. But Prince wasn’t known for his use of the color blue. Let’s just hope the entire category is purple.

Lyrics and annotation resource Genius put out a graphic featuring some of the most iconic Prince lyrics out there: the opening to “Let’s Go Crazy.”

The Minnesota Timberwolves also featured a purple graphic.

Kelly Rowland was just one of the celebs who shared their favorite Prince song with The Root.

Dictionary.com, meanwhile, continued its streak of perfectly appropriate tweets about words with an equally appropriate Prince GIF.

Quite a few, including Today, also used the Prince quote, “A strong spirit transcends rules” as part of their own tributes.
