The Cheating Curve (Season 2, Episode 6)

Sex and The City was such a progressive show when it first aired in 1998, mostly because of how it portrayed sex. So it’s not surprising that one of the girls had a lesbian storyline. Of course, that storyline involved Samantha and that’s a completely different episode, but in this season 2 episode, Charlotte dipped her toe ever so gently into the lady pond.

During an art opening at the gallery, Charlotte realized that a group of power lesbians were some of her best customers. She also realized that they were all stylish, smart, and had great taste in art with money to burn. She finds herself being attracted to this group of women, but not in a sexual way.

When she finds her current beau kissing another woman in her gallery, Charlotte decides to give up men and start hanging out with the group of power lesbians. Charlotte felt right at home with this group of chic, high-powered women.  But in the end… she just wasn’t a lesbian, much to her chagrin.

While Charlotte was busy with her new group of ladies, Samantha was having an exciting tryst with her personal trainer, Thor. When they hit the showers, he reveals an interesting fetish: he wants to shave Samantha’s pubic hair, and he shapes it into a lightning bolt (his name is Thor, get it?). Samantha goes back to the gym and takes in a steam, and notices her trainer has been branding more than just her when she sees another woman with a rather electric pubic haircut.

And keeping with the theme of lady lovin’, Carrie needs a little help from her friends when she gets her diaphragm stuck inside her. Samantha gives her a helping hand, but then the ladies have questions about who she needs a diaphragm for, so she has to spill the beans about being back with Mr. Big.

There’s never a dull moment with these gals!
