Four Women and a Funeral (Season 2, Episode 5)

Who says a funeral is a bad place to meet people? When the Sex and The City ladies attend a funeral, they manage to make some business contacts and even find eligible widowers.

When Carrie and the gang attend the funeral of a young designer named Javier, Samantha shows up in a Javier original and starts making new contacts immediately with some of New York’s elite. Things take a turn for Samantha, though, when she’s caught hooking up with a man by his wife, who’s very powerful in the New York high society.

Charlotte starts dating a widower and helps him through his troubled time by sleeping with him and helping him to feel again. The only problem is, she’s not the only one helping him out! Seems like the guy was using his wife’s death to his advantage.

And on the theme of death, Miranda is excited to be buying her new apartment all on her own. It’s a moment in her life that she should cherish, the fact that she’s financially comfortable enough to own her own property, especially in New York. But when a neighbor tells her about the previous tenant, a single woman who died in the apartment whose face got eaten by her cat, Miranda worries that she’s destined to die alone just like that.

Her fears almost become a reality when she’s binging on takeout and starts choking. With no one there to help, she runs around her apartment unable to breathe before pushing herself onto a stack of boxes to knock the food out of her airway. Being alone forever may be a scary thought, but dying alone in your apartment to not be found for days is even scarier.
