J.K. Rowling working on another children’s book soon

J.K. Rowling has shared her plans for writing now that she’s finished the fourth Cormoran Strike novel. There’s another children’s book in the works, but it’s bad news for Harry Potter fans.
J.K. Rowling is setting herself up for a very busy year. After working on the fourth Cormoran Strike novel, “Lethal White,” she’s already moved onto her next writing project. Fantastic Beasts 3 is already being developed, but that’s not all she’s got. The author is returning to the world of children’s books. Does this mean another Harry Potter book?
Unfortunately, we’re not getting any more Harry Potter novels. Rowling previously said that she was done with the world. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was enough, giving fans a little insight into the Boy Wizard as an adult with a family. The author isn’t interested in milking the franchise anymore.

The children’s novel will be a fresh story. It’s also not going to be in any sort of wizarding world, so while it may not be Harry Potter and his family, it’s also not going to focus on any of the other characters.

Rowling shared that this children’s book is one she’s been “playing with” for six years. It’s time to finally put the ideas together and into a novel. No other details about the book were revealed, including whether it will have some other type of mythical or supernatural element or whether it will remain in our own world.
She’ll start working on the book after she’s finished with Fantastic Beasts 3. We may get a little more information then.
