14. When he loved his friends

Much of our love for Tom Holland stems from him putting the “friendly” in friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Nowhere was that more obvious than on the Spider-Man: Homecoming press tour.

“I love my friends,” Tom said joyfully, after co-stars Jacob Batalon, Zendaya and Laura Harrier took part in a game to see how well they knew him. It turns out they knew him very well, scoring five out of five on questions about his music taste (he’s a fan of old-school hip-hop) and pastimes (golf, his penchant for which is his only known flaw).

In a BuzzFeed interview in which Tom is playing with puppies (his own kind), he admits that he and his best friend Harrison Osterfield are in a group chat named “The Holy Trinity” with Batalon, since they all hit it off on set.

He’s even attempted to teach them both to dance ballet, since he is not only talented but generous and doesn’t keep his gifts to himself. He introduces them to everything from plies to pirouettes, and is nothing but encouraging, as all good teachers are. Thank you, Tom, we are truly blessed.

If we can just point to another glorious moment from that puppy interview, though, it’s when he returns a puppy’s tiny cry and our hearts were irrevocably taken. He jokes about making a career-diversion into puppy-wrangling and frankly, we think he’d be smashing at it, since it takes one to know one.

(No, we’re not going to stop comparing Tom Holland to a puppy, thanks for asking.)
