Get the Look: Dark Yellow Peplum Blazer & Skinny Trousers
This woman seems to have it all: career as a badass lawyer, adoring husband, and a closet that we covet! Amal Clooney has quickly solidified herself as a style icon since first appearing in our celebrity peripheral. Anna Wintour selected her as a co-chair for the Met Gala this year, and her showing at the royal wedding — in custom Stella McCartney – is another solid example of why.
Amal is a pro at bold looks, without being tackily over the top. This goldenrod yellow dress and hat are a treat for those of us who have been living in sun-deprived areas of the country. And we couldn’t be happier. Speaking of sunshine: her husband George Clooney even accessorized so appropriately, by wearing a matching yellow tie and pocket square, that we had to name the couple to our best-dressed list. And while George is obviously still totally swoon-worthy, Mrs. Clooney is the one who we’re crushing on hard these days.
Wanna dress like you run the world? Snag a power suit in this oh so powerful color. Try it with blazer unbuttoned over a lace cami. Or go shirtless underneath, and add some stilettos. We suggest popping a flower in your breast pocket for some extra sass. While there are quite a few golden yellow options out there, especially obvious dress silhouettes, we landed on threads that would be strong from your day job to night life. We’re sure that Amal would approve, and secretly wish she would have taken this route herself.
