James Gunn met Mark Hamill, so does this mean Mark is in the MCU now?

Mark Hamill and James Gunn have finally met in person, so does that mean Luke Skywalker is finally going to be in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

Everyone loves Mark Hamill. Honestly, who could hate him? He’s the internet’s dad and he loves to make Star Wars fans happy. And one of the ways he could make fans happy is by being in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Back in February, rumors began that Mark could possibly have a role in the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. (It would make sense considering the series is based on the sci-fi movies from the ’80s that we all cling to.) The rumors started because Mark and Guardians director James Gunn had a Twitter exchange where they basically said they should hang out because they’re neighbors.

And so, finally, they got the chance to spend the day together… and hopefully discuss giving Mark a Guardians cameo?

Really, though, can those negotiations to put Mark in the MCU get underway? Maybe it’s not incredibly likely, seeing as they were probably just sharing a nice day together. Marvel is so secretive about everything that showing James and Mark together seems more like a childhood dream come true than an actual meeting to get Luke Skywalker himself in a Marvel movie.

Although, it’d be funny if he somehow played the father to Bucky Barnes (an internet joke that has spanned years that Mark Hamill and Sebastian Stan look-a-like). If not, of course he’d fit into the Guardians of the Galaxy world.

After all, he is Luke Skywalker. James Gunn is also one of those writers who wouldn’t make it cheesy. There’d be some cool way to include Mark into the series without it being as on-the-nose as it could be. Then again, that’s if this was a meeting to talk about making Mark Hamill part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first place.

Hopefully the talks are underway and Hamill will really be in a movie in the MCU. If not, it is nice to see James Gunn finally meeting Mark.
