Sirius Black and Remus Lupin could have been a great love story

Love stories may not be the focal point of the Harry Potter series but what if we had gotten a love story between Remus Lupin and Sirius Black?

Sirius Black had a lot of love in his life. Mainly for his best friends but still. One of the greatest loves came not from his connection to James Potter but rather with his relationship to Remus Lupin. The two had an interesting dynamic and one that fans seemed to gravitate towards.

Basically we wanted them to date. The two had been best friends since they were children, they loved each other and they wanted to be close to each other. So why couldn’t they also have romantic feelings for one another? Granted, we don’t know whether or not they could or that they did but wouldn’t it be nice to think about it?

That being said, these two characters tried their hardest to get back to each other and fell in love with one another (if not in the romantic sense then just in their friendship) and it was beautiful to witness. Unfortunately for us, it was cut short because this group of friends can’t seem to catch a break.

This series has a beautiful way of showing us the importance of friendship and what it means to relate to each other and then taking it away from us. But with Sirius and Lupin, it just seemed like a deeper connection that we could all appreciate and long for. Too bad we’ll never know what their relationship really could have been.
