As we’ve seen with Ali Wong, Netflix can launch a comedian’s career. We’ve compiled a list of 10 comedians who deserve a Netflix special of their own.
Ali Wong’s second Netflix special came out recently, and it is perfect. Hard Knock Wife was the ideal follow-up to her debut special, Baby Cobra, which came out it in 2016.
Before Baby Cobra, Ali was a successful comedian but her notoriety was not what it is today. Her first Netflix special launched Ali into the world of celebrity. Her touring schedule skyrocketed, people recognizing her more and, as she says in Hard Knock Wife, her bank account grew.
Netflix has made many comedy specials over the years but many of them have not seen the success that Ali’s brought her. Ali Wong herself is why her special rocked. There is no other comedian like her, and Netflix’s exposure just made it easier to enjoy her humorous sets.
We’ve compiled a list of comedians who deserve the same shot that Netflix gave Ali. A brilliant special can be the beginning of a mutually beneficial relationship between network and talent. Below is a list of 10 comedians you may or may not have heard who deserve an hour-long Netflix special.
