Rupert Grint will be in the next Agatha Christie installment on BBC One, The ABC Murders. Just who will he play in the series?

Agatha Christie’s stories continue to be highly popular, so it’s not surprising that BBC One is doing another installment. The latest will be The ABC Murders, with John Malkovich in the lead as Hercules Poirot. Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint will also star in the series and now the question is who he will play.

Grint has landed the role of Inspector Crome in the three-part drama. While BBC One will air the production in the UK (with dates to be determined), Amazon will get the U.S. rights.

What Is The ABC Murders all about?

The ABC Murders is set in 1930s Britain, when the world is dangerously divided. Hercules Poirot needs to solve the case of the “A.B.C.,” a serial killer whose body count continues to rise. The serial killer’s name comes from the copy of “The ABC Railway Guide” that’s left at every crime scene.

There are a number of major names connected to the production, including Andrew Buchan, Tara Fitzgerald, and Bronwyn James. James Prichard will executive produce the series, which makes sense considering he is the CEO of Agatha Christie Limited.

Who is Inspector Crome?

Grint’s Inspector Crome isn’t likely to be a character you’ll initially like as a fan of Poirot. He’s brought into the case to help solve the murders and has a low opinion of the marvelous inspector. Of course, this is Poirot, so Crome is likely to realize that his low opinion is wrong.
