When Meghan Markle wed Prince Harry, we got a glimpse of how her stunning style will now reflect royalty’s strict fashion rules.

May 2018 marked Meghan Markle’s transformation from a red-carpet-ready American actress to a protocol-obeying member of the royal family. Now known as Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex following her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan is expected to say farewell to her ripped jeans and messy bun while embracing chic frocks and sleek chignons. Read on to learn what it’s like to walk in Her Royal Highness’ Palace-approved shoes, including a surprisingly affordable polish for your nails!

Meghan Markle’s wedding dress and nails were approved by the Queen

As Meghan walked gracefully to the altar to meet her real-life Prince, her wedding gown and veil looked exquisite. Tradition requires that a woman’s husband not see his bride in her wedding gown before the ceremony. However, royal tradition involves a third person: The Queen. Elizabeth herself personally approved Markle’s wedding gown.

While not everyone can afford a designer wedding gown, Meghan’s nail polish is refreshingly affordable while also qualifying for royal approval! Prince Harry’s wife wore Essie Ballet Slippers, which the Queen, as well as royal brides, have worn for years. It costs less than 10 dollars and its pale pink hue meets the royal nail standards (clean, tidy nails that are either bare and buffed or polished with nude or Essie Ballet Slippers pink).

We loved Meghan’s adorably messy bun with those sexy loose tendrils. But in the wedding ceremony that officially turned Markle from casual California gal to the Duchess to Prince Harry’s Duke, observers are noticing that her hair has undergone a royal transformation.

Since the wedding, Meghan has stepped out with her hair in sleek styles. She’s looking just as regally royal as her new sister-in-law Kate Middleton has with her years of royal family experience.

Markle has more training ahead in the rules of the royal family, and the Queen has taken it upon her royal self to make sure Meghan learns what she needs. According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Sussex will be getting trained by Samantha Cohen. Cohen has temporarily gone from working as the Queen’s private secretary to tutoring Meghan Markle in the secret style rules of the royal family.
